Lochhead / SSACN meeting - updated

Update :: The meeting will now take place on the 11th December 2008

We have just received a letter from the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment Richard Lochhead MSP, the main text of which was :

Thank you for your letter of 31 July 2008 to Richard Lochhead, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment, regarding recreational sea angling (RSA). I apologise for the delay in replying.

As discussed at the National Conversation Event in Dumfries, Mr Lochhead would be pleased to meet the Scottish Sea Angling Conservation Network (SSACN) to consider the findings of Glasgow Caledonian University’s current Study and to discuss how best sea angling can be developed in future. As you know, the Study is scheduled to report in November and we will look to convene a meeting as soon after that as is possible.

Mr Lochhead is keen also to take you up at some point in the future on your kind offer of a trip out on one of your charter vessels and to visit some local businesses involved with RSA.

To identify mutually suitable dates for both the meeting and the sea trip, please contact Mr Lochhead’s Diary Secretary.

I do hope this is helpful. Yours sincerely etc etc.
