POSITION FILLED
Scottish Angling Business Development Manager
Angling Development Board for Scotland
Location : will be discussed with successful candidate – Salary: £30K – £34K pro rata
(This post will be pro rata to £30 – £34 and in the first instance be a 4 day per week post possibly rising to five days over time)
Angling is the biggest participation sport in the world and we are proud of the contribution that our sport makes to the Scottish Economy. We have a desire to maintain this tradition and to develop our sport by encouraging more people to participate and to compete.
We aim to achieve our goal through the newly created Angling Development Board for Scotland (ADBoS) and with the appointment of an Angling Business Development Manager. ADBoS is a partnership between the three Scottish National Governing Bodies, The Scottish Angler’s National Association (SANA), The Scottish Federation for Course Angling ( SFCA) and the Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers ( SFSA) .
To ensure we meet our aims to develop the sport we are looking for a dynamic manager who has the ability to influence partner organisations and to engage with and inspire new participants into Angling. As ADBoS is in its infancy we are looking for a self starter who understands the goals of the organisation and who has the drive and commitment to meet them.
We expect the Business Development Manager to steer our sport into the next generation and to do this you will need to be energetic, enthusiastic, self motivated and be able to appreciate and work with a range of organisations each with a common interest in Angling. The role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop skills at a national level and to make an impact on sport generally.
Although we are looking for a business manager who is experienced in project management and who possesses excellent negotiation and planning skills an understanding of the various disciplines of Angling would also be desirable.
Ideally we are looking to appoint a candidate with a proven track record in a professional working environment educated to degree level.
