England–Wales angling survey results

| November 29, 2012

angling-trust-logoEarlier in the year, the Environment Agency Fisheries Team working with the Angling Trust undertook a National Angling Survey.

Over 29,000 anglers and 780 angling organisations replied, making this one of the biggest ever surveys of anglers.

As well as giving views on various issues affecting angling, respondents also helped with the creation of a national angling strategy – Fishing for Life – which was launched at the Angling Summit on 13 November by the Fisheries Minister, Richard Benyon.

Just a pity the Scottish Government couldn’t get its act together quicker, it’s been nearly two years since the Sea Angling Strategy Group finished their report.!

The survey results, together with the strategy, are now available from the Angling Trust website (click here).

We hope you find them interesting.
