Global warming beaten

Jul 5th, 2009 | By ssacn | Category: Government

In the past few years, the fisheries management and commercial interests response to dwindling cod stocks has been to continually state that commercial fishing activities are in no way to blame and that global warming was the prime cause of all ills.

Now cod stocks are said to be on the increase, GLOBAL WARMING HAS BEEN BEATEN and it’s all down to the efforts of the politicians and the commercial fishermen – and of course, now there are ‘more’ cod, then it’ll be fine to hammer the stocks once again.

How predictable, how transparent, how tragic that political expediency and fear of commercial interests lead many within Government and certain NGO’s to give any credibility at all to the depletion of stocks being solely due to global warming.
