MCS Scallop Petition

mcsThe Scottish Government is consulting on new management controls to help protect king scallop stocks around Scotland and ensure the long-term sustainability of the fishery. This follows a consultation in 2012 which highlighted that there are regions in Scotland where fishing effort should be restricted or cut and measures should be taken to increase the number of larger animals able to reproduce.

To help the MCS push for better seabed protection as part of a more sustainably managed king and queen scallop fishery in Scotland, they request individuals respond to the consultation by completing and sending a message to the Scottish Government.
