More Cod are landed

by long liners from Iceland in Grimsby due a lack of buyers and credit in their home country.

They have been landing around 100 tonnes a time at the Humber port for the first time in several years creating somewhat of a sweet ‘n sour situation for the commercial sectors – the influx of fish has created a revival for the processing industry but it has depressed prices to their lowest level for seven years, which has consequently impacted the catching sector, especially in Scotland.
