Offshore Energy consultation Update

windmillAn update on the draft ‘Sectoral Marine Plans for Offshore Wind, Wave and Tidal Energy in Scottish Waters’ (here after referred to as ‘Sectoral Marine Plans’). 

Last year Marine Scotland consulted on the draft Sectoral Marine Plans that identified 28 draft plan options for possible future renewables development, including 10 options for wind, 10 for tidal and 8 for wave energy. 

You may recall that the draft Sectoral Plans were subject to Sustainability Appraisal, comprising of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Habitats Regulations Appraisal (HRA) and Socio-Economic Assessment; access the Draft Sectoral Marine Plans and supporting documents here.

The consultation on the Draft plan options for renewable energy attracted some 630 consultation responses.  The respondents that provided permission to make their responses public have had their responses published on the Marine Scotland website.  The responses can be viewed at this link.
