sharkatag2013a

This years Sharkatag event will be held on the 14th, 15th and 16th of June. The event takes place from marks around the Solway and SW Scotland with a focus on collecting data on tope, smoothhound, bull huss and a variety of ray species. Sharkatag is now in it’s 5th year and attracts anglers from all over the UK.

Rays Awareness!

This years Sharkatag will have a special focus on ray species: although thornback ray numbers appear to be increasing in many areas, numbers of spotted, blonde and cuckoo rays (which were once a common catch around the south-west) appear to have fallen dramatically. This year we will be asking anglers to record all different ray species in addition to the usual catches of tope, smoothhound and bull huss!

You can pre-register for the event on the SSTP website.
