The EU’s angling knowledge

Mar 19th, 2009 | By ssacn | Category: SSACN Announcements

has unsurprisingly been called into question in a response to a piece on the ongoing issues around Article 47 -  a charter boat skipper had been quoted as saying that the Commission simply did not understand those who fished as a hobby and that he was concerned that EU having messed up the Common Fisheries Policy were about to mess up the sports angling situation in the UK .

But the Commission insisted that its plans would not affect the average angler saying the proposed regulations were about big-scale boats going out and catching a lot of fish and that they were not suggesting that anglers would have to report their catches when they went out on their fishing boat on the beach and caught two cod.
