Now Hiring– Community Outreach Project Officer

outandaboutAn integral part of our work is our Community Outreach Programme which has proved very successful and to date has been delivered to more than 2,600 individuals of all ages by SSACN volunteers.

Now thanks to funding support from Marine Scotland we are in a position to recruit a Project Officer on an initial 9 month contract to work with SSACN’s existing team.

We are looking to further develop the programme and extend our ability to deliver it by engaging in cooperative development with community groups, primary schools or other organisations and enabling them to become self-sustaining SSACN Outreach Hubs.

The Project Officer will train the Hubs to deliver SSACN Outreach material and work with them to develop local initiatives aimed at raising the awareness of sea angling opportunities, increasing participation in the sport, best practice/skills and marine conservation issues.

The successful applicant will work from home and due to the nature of the role and will need to have an element of flexibility over their working hours as it is expected a reasonable amount of weekend work and travel within Scotland will be required in order to contribute to field work and Outreach activities.
