The ninth annual Sharkatag event will be held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of June 2017. The event will take place from marks around the Solway and SW Scotland but the event will primarily be based at the Clashwhannon Caravan Park in Drummore. Entries will also be taken at Sands of Luce Holiday Park at Sandhead and Brighouse Bay Holiday Park Kirkcudbright.

Sharkatag’s main aim always has been and will remain to be gathering data on as many fish as possible to highlight the continued need for shark and ray conservation in Scottish waters, and to raise the public awareness of sea angling.

We decided in 2016 to add a competitive edge to the event. This will continue in 2017. We have carefully chosen categories that will complement the main aims of the event while adding an extra bit of fun and enjoyment.

ENTRY – £20 per head. Juniors are free.

  • 1st and 2nd longest tagged tope over the 2 day event.
  • Combined length of nominated tagged sharks – Tope, Bull Huss, Spurdog, Smoothhound and Ray (Longest fish of each species to give a total length)
